For the descendents of Richard Dearie and his son John Russell

George Dearie Russell's Railway Bridges.

Thanks to Khursaini A Fatah for identifying the bridge as being at Sg Puloh Batu 5, Kapar and for the information that the wheels on posts are the watergate to control the water level into sg puloh , the water coming from the sea (behind the cameraman). The other part of the bridge is under the big tree across the river.

Batu 5 = 5th mile between Sg Putus Halt (4th mile) and Vallambrosa Halt (7th mile).

Left: Pasir Tuntung Bridge, Assam Jawa, Selangor. Thanks to Khursaini A Fatah for identifying the bridge and to Abdul Rahim Mahmudin, Wan Mohd Faiz, Azizan Zulkifli, and Hafizi Azmal for permission to use their modern photographs of the two bridges. Khursaini A Fatah's cycling route along the line can be found here: http://deanbikes.blogspot.co.uk/

Above: A map of the old railway line which ran along the coast from Klang to Kuala Selangor, a total length of 29 and half miles. The miles from Klang are marked on the map.

The very faded old photographs of two bridges were found in the collection of George Dearie Russell and show their construction. The figure in white on top of the bridge on the right might be George. Both bridges are on the Klang to Kuala Selangor line.
